A Petition Has Been Launched To Host A Rave At KFC

We've already seen Bunnings host a rave, so what's next? The logical answer, of course, is KFC.

If you’ve ever found yourself buying some late-night KFC, only to look around the establishment while waiting for your order and think “They should host a rave here”, then you’re not alone, with a petition being launched to have that very dream realised.

It was just a few months ago that producer Kaila dropped a remix of the Bunnings theme tune, inspiring a petition for What So Not and Peking Duk to play a rave in the chain of stores.

While it may have seemed like the fever-dream of a club-going tradie, the fantasy soon became reality, and on August 31st, the Bunnings in the Victorian suburb of Preston hosted the first (of hopefully many) Bunnings Rave.

But why stop there? Why not turn every location imaginable into a celebration of music? After all, Melbourne’s Private Function held a listening party for their Rock In Roll EP in 2019 at the Fitrzroy public toilets, so anything is fair game.

That appears to be the logic behind a new petition which aims to see KFC turning into the next boiler room.

“In 2024 we had the Bunnings rave...so in 2025 we MUST have the KFC rave,” said Nick Lennon’s Change.org petition. “Australia we need you if this is ever going to become a reality.”

At the time of writing, the petition boasts 90 signatures out of its goal of 100.

While the Bunnings rave also raised funds for Support Act, this could in fact be a rather intriguing cash cow for charitable organisations throughout the country. It’s also not that far-fetched either, especially considering that France’s DJ Snake held a rave in a Paris McDonald’s in 2023.

However, there is one small caveat that needs to be mentioned. While Bunnings were on board with the rave in 2024, we can only assume that KFC could be eager to open their doors to clubbers as well.

But, cast your minds back to 2019 when a DJ dressed as KFC’s founder and mascot, Colonel Sanders, played a set at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival.

“I am Colonel Sanders, I am everywhere,” ‘Sanders’ told the crowd. “Are y’all hungry for some beats? Do you want deep-fried or finger lickin’ bangers?”

Let’s just hope that if a KFC rave does become a reality, there’s a bit of quality control to ensure the late Sanders doesn’t take the stage. Add your signature to the petition here.
