Nuclear Blast Records signs Kadavar
Nuclear Blast Records has announced the signing of "Germany's most authentic and passionate psychedelic hard rock combo of today", Kadavar. Nuclear Blast's Head of A&R Andy Siry comments on the signing: "We're delighted to bid Kadavar welcome to the Nuclear Blast family! It was with great interest that we've watched their first steps from the founding of the band to the release of their debut record. Eventually, the last-mentioned tipped the balance and led us to offering them a record deal, as we truly believe that these three gentlemen are masters of their craft and can righteously be considered the leaders of the German occult rock movement. Regarding the signing with the Swabian label, drummer Tiger states with a wink: "Even though the relationship between people from Berlin and Swabians is usually considered rather… uneasy, we're taking the first step to reconciliation: We're very happy that our sec...

Soundwave timetables released for Sydney and Brisbane
Soundwave organisers have posted the timetables for the Brisbane and Sydney festival dates. With the 2013 lineup boasting 72 bands spread across nine stages, we all knew there would be some shocking timetable clashes revealed in the lead up to show day. We can now confirm that one of the biggest dilemmas for punters going to Sydney and Brisbane will be having to pick between seeing Metallica (7:45 – 10:00) and Blink 182 (7:45 – 9:00) or the Offspring (9:00 – 10:00). Interestingly, there’s also an unnamed “special guest” performing from 2:20 – 3:00 on stage 3 at both Sydney and Brisbane festivals. Little is known as to who this might be, though there’s online speculation it could be anyone from Megadeth (completing the Big Four of trash) to Fall Out Boy. However, with Blood On the Dancefloor pulling out of the festival just last week, there’s also the possibility it’s a spot reserved for a local replacement act. We’re tipping timetables for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth won’t be...

Cold World and Rotting Out announce Australian tour
Touring Australia for the first time in April around Break The Ice Festival in Melbourne, US hardcore heavyweights Cold World and Rotting Out. Taking in both coasts before they head to Break The Ice, Cold World and Rotting Out will bring chaos to audiences nationwide supported on the tour by Sydney newcomers Civil War. Cold World have made waves in hardcore, their debut album No Omega challenged convention by incorporating hip hop and digital elements while still delivering the driving riffs and personal lyrics more commonly associated with hardcore. Their fusion of styles continued on Dedicated To Babies Who Came Feet First, an instant classic that cemented the band on top of modern hardcore, having played in every possible setting in the US, Europe and Asia, it’s time for Australia to see why Cold World are so highly regarded. With a new album coming soon, Cold World will make their way down under for the first time in April. Rotting Out are a bright light for hardcore in 2013. ...
