Killswitch Engage's Howard Jones comments on departure
Now-former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones has issued a statement via the band's website regarding his departure from the band. The statement is as follows:“Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me. Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. Infinite Void sign with Poison City Records
Melbourne's Infinite Void have signed with Poison City Records, with the label set to release the band's debut LP in the coming months. The label released the following statement about the signing: "It's with great pleasure that we welcome Melbourne's Infinite Void to the Poison City family! Forming in 2010 from past and present members of The Diamond Sea, Schifosi, Deep Heat and Circuits, Infinite Void play a gritty and melodic tangle of dark edged punk (Joy Division, Wipers), Australian garage/ surf and 90's indie rock (Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney) driven by infectious, predominately girl vocals. Infinite Void are currently working with Steven Smith at Crosstown Studios to put the finishing touches on their debut album, set for an April 2012 release via Poison City Records." The Carrier announce break up
The Carrier, previously signed to Deathwish Inc., have announced that they will be breaking up following a European tour and last show in Boston, all to take place in March.The band released the following statement:Hi Everyone,We saw that there were some rumors floating around about us, and figured that now is probably the best time to clear the air:It's with very mixed emotions that we announce that The Carrier will be breaking up this upcoming March. There are a lot of reasons that have led us to this decision, and it wasn't an easy one. But ultimately, we all share a mutual feeling that we're transitioning into different chapters in our lives—personally and musically. The overall mood of the band has changed profoundly since we first started, and frankly, we can't continue to put forth the passion that we once had.
