For the first time in its 40-year history, Triple M is opening its doors to everyday listeners in a search for new Breakfast radio talent.
In December, the rock music and sports-focused radio station will launch Pilot Week. Five brand-new Breakfast shows will hit the airwaves nationwide, with the initiative offering fresh voices a shot at the big time on a hugely successful radio network.
Triple M reaches more than 4.9 million radio and on-demand listeners a week. It’s home to sporting heroes, beloved comedians, and music personalities; The Screaming Jets’ Dave Gleeson shares airtime with Mick Molloy, Billy Brownless, Luisa Dal Din, and others.
Pilot Week will begin on Monday, 15 December, and mark an Australian radio first by showcasing emerging Breakfast radio talent over a week-long programming schedule. Each new show will have the chance to become a new staple of the Triple M roster.
Entries will be reviewed over the coming weeks by a panel to narrow the choices to a Top 10. Five final shows will be selected for broadcast across the country, live on Triple M and LiSTNR, from 6 to 8 am during Pilot Week, ending on Friday, 19 December.

Triple M’s Pilot Week initiative follows the runaway success of Lu & Jarch (Luisa Dal Din and Jack Archdale), who have amassed over 934,000 listeners nationwide and over 50 million social media views.
In a statement, Matthew O’Reilly, SCA Head of Broadcast Content, explained: “Triple M has always been about big personalities, creating world-class content, think Andrew Denton, The Cage and The Hot Breakfast, just to name a few. Pilot Week opens the door for fresh voices to jump behind the mic and have an opportunity for an exciting career in radio.
O’Reilly concluded, “The audio industry is booming, and there’s incredible creative energy across the country, from podcasters and comics to online storytellers. Triple M’s Pilot Week is the perfect opportunity for anyone who’s ever listened to Mick Molloy, James Brayshaw or Beau Ryan and thought, ‘I reckon I could do that!’”
