BACKGROUND CHECK:

Tim McGregor is a key executive at TEG, serving as the company's Global Head of Touring. With over three decades of experience in the live entertainment industry, he oversees TEG's entire concert touring and festival portfolio, which includes major brands like TEG Live, TEG Dainty, Laneway Festival, and Handsome Tours across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and North America. McGregor first joined TEG in 2016 as the Managing Director of TEG Live, a role he stepped into when TEG acquired the Dainty Group.

McGregor's extensive career began with a background as an entertainment lawyer. Before his leadership at TEG, he spent 11 years at the Dainty Group, rising to the position of Group Managing Director. His wide-ranging expertise also comes from holding senior positions at other major Australian live events, including the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, and the Falls Festival. This diverse experience across motorsport, music festivals, and large-scale concert touring has established him as one of the most prominent figures in the region's live entertainment sector.

THE YEAR IN AUSTRALIAN MUSIC:

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

It has been a huge year for TEG, with Fisher’s Out 2 Lunch festival pushing the boundaries of artist-curated events and a stadium show coming up next month for Dom Dolla in partnership with Untitled Group. This year has also seen runs for Keith Urban, Hilltop Hoods, Pete Murray, and Delta Goodrem. With the deep pockets of a multinational, but an Australian home base, TEG have a combination of big international names, but with the clout to back Australian artists when they decide to.

THE MUSIC SPEAKS:

It has been a big year for TEG with a new CEO (ex-Woolworths boss Brad Banducci). The recent investment into overhauling their marketing operations should yield dividends over the next year as part of better coordination between their promoter businesses (Dainty, Van Egmond, MJR, Laneway). McGregor’s helming of the touring company is a safe pair of hands across the business’s changes. Having a global focus with a local heart has potential for TEG to be even more important to local artists if a player like McGregor fights for Australian supports and opportunities.
