The Music's Power 50 is a celebration of leadership and Australian music impact for the year.

Clive Miller (Campbell Manderson)
With years spent in the music world as a radio producer and presenter, and time spent working in the fields of band management and promotion (including with the likes of The Go-Betweens and Ups And Downs), it makes sense that someone like Clive Miller heads up the music industry's charity, Support Act. That role makes even more sense given his more than three decades in the non-profit sector, working with the AIDS Trust of Australia, the Yothu Yindi Foundation, The Fred Hollows Foundation, and Optometry Giving Sight.
Taking on the role of Support Act CEO back in May 2018, Miller has been a key figure in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone within the music industry – whether it be the artists who fill the stage, the roadies who work behind it, and the technicians who ensure it all looks and sounds good.
Having joined Support Act just as the organisation launched their Wellbeing Helpline, Miller has been instrumental in its growth and its implementation, with this year seeing the resource being expanded to include all workers in the creative industries – alongside the inclusion of the First Nations Support Line and the LGBTQI+ Support Line – greatly increasing the amount of help on offer for those who contribute to the rich cultural fabric.
But that’s not all. While Support Act continues to serve as a vital line of defence for those who need support during darker times, Miller has helped increase the reach and impact of the organisation at every turn. While this year has also seen Support Act's partnership with Live Nation include upsell initiatives to include voluntary donations, the flagship event – Ausmusic T Shirt Day – has this year also gained the support of commercial radio stations for the first time.

Clive Miller taking the role of Support Act CEO right before a global pandemic turned out to be great for the music industry. Upscaling had to happen in a short period of time, and Miller showed incredible leadership skills and an ability to not only step up to the plate, but to bring the whole industry with him.
He and his incredible team fight for funding, push support for minority communities and bring together the Australian industry to create a safety net that is much needed. Not just there for those who have fallen on hard times, the organisation has helped shepherd the industry through cultural change and provided much-needed support for businesses so that the entire industry can deal with mental health and wellbeing in a healthier way.
