It’s not even Christmas yet, but that hasn’t stopped Mushroom Group from announcing some promotions ahead of entering the New Year.

Label Assistant Maddison Dutton has been promoted to Label Coordinator, while Colby Cross has gone from Media & Artist Relations Assistant to Media & Artist Relations Coordinator—big moves for the pair.

“Excited for this new chapter at Mushroom Music as Label Coordinator - working alongside a legendary team on new release projects, and starting my journey with our international artist roster,” Dutton shared via a LinkedIn post.

Commenting on her year and a half at Mushroom, where she’s learned an “enormous amount” while supporting the Senior Label Managers and wider label on projects, Dutton’s highlight of the year was working on her first ARIA #1 album, Mia Wray’s debut album, hi, it’s nice to meet me. Plus, Dutton joined Juno Mamba on projects and dove into “all things Confidence Man”.

“A huge thank you to Blaise [Sherrie] and ST for the last 18 months of guidance, trust, and support,” Dutton continued. “Onwards to the next! 🍄”.

Also revealing promotion news on LinkedIn, Cross wrote, “Excited as to share that I have started a new position as Media & Artist Relations Coordinator at Mushroom Group! Where I will be assisting the publicity team across both Mushroom Music and MG Live's domestic and international recording and touring roster.

“Plus continuing to distribute our media releases and music servicing, with a focus on working closely with Community Radio and supporting the success of our publicity campaigns. Keen as for this one!”

In addition to the promotions, Blaise Sherrie announced her departure from Mushroom Group today, after 11-and-a-half years.

“After 11.5 years, my time at Mushroom Group has come to an end,” she wrote.

Sherrie’s statement continued, “The music industry is a pretty special place, and I feel incredibly lucky to have spent so many years working alongside artists, managers and colleagues I respect deeply.

“I’m grateful for the experiences and friendships that came with it. I’ll be taking a short breather over summer, then looking ahead to what’s next in 2026.”

This year, songwriters and composers on the roster of Mushroom Music, the publishing arm of Mushroom Group, opened a new revenue stream through the company’s sub-publishing partnership with the USA’s peermusic.

Mushroom Group launched Mushroom Music last year. Consolidating the strengths of Mushroom Group’s established recording, publishing and neighbouring rights divisions, the new operation delivers “unparalleled support” for artists and songwriters under the Mushroom umbrella.

The company offers artists a “complete suite” of essential, tailored services. Of course, like its parent company, Mushroom Music is 100% independent.
