Mushroom Group has expanded its brand and reach by launching its “progressive” new company, Mushroom Music.

Consolidating the strengths of Mushroom Group’s established recording, publishing and neighbouring rights divisions, the new operation promises to deliver “unparalleled support” for artists and songwriters under the Mushroom umbrella.

According to a statement on the Mushroom Music website, the company will offer artists a “complete suite” of essential, tailored services. Of course, like its parent company, Mushroom Music is 100% independent.

Artists and songwriters represented by Mushroom Music include massive international names such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kehlani, Wolf Alice, Childish Gambino, and more, with a strong focus on local artists.

The Aussies who will benefit from the new company are Vance Joy, Kylie Minogue, The Teskey Brothers, Jimmy Barnes, Julia Jacklin, Archie Roach, Amy Shark, Missy HigginsConfidence Man, The Rubens, Dan Sultan, The Temper Trap, Hunters & Collectors, Sheppard, Middle KidsgrentperezTobiahs, Gordi, and Mia Wray.

The recording division of Mushroom Music will combine Mushroom Group’s secondary record labels – Liberation Records, Ivy League Records, Bloodlines, Liberator Music, Soothsayer and 100s + 1000s – into one, under Mushroom Music. I OH YOU and Valve Sounds will remain standalone label partners of Mushroom Music.

In addition to the recording side, the new company will incorporate Mushroom Music Publishing and Australian neighbouring rights company, Good Neighbour, which Managing Director Susan Cotchin will continue to lead.

Mushroom Music will be led by co-CEOs Chris Maund (formerly COO of Mushroom Labels & Publishing) and Linda Bosidis (formerly Managing Director of Mushroom Music Publishing). Both will report to the Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski.

In a statement, Gudinski said of today’s news: “Mushroom Music has been a long time in the making. This transformation is about harnessing the collective strengths and experience of our individual recording, publishing and neighbouring rights companies.

“I’m pleased to appoint Chris Maund and Linda Bosidis as co-CEOs; they’ve both been instrumental in driving Mushroom’s growth and are esteemed leaders within the industry. Backed by a dedicated and talented team, Mushroom Music is in a great position to support the development and continued success of our artists and writers.”

Maund said of the “honour” of being appointed co-CEO with Bosidis: “The strength of Mushroom Music’s combined roster is undeniable, and we are uniquely positioned to provide our collective team to help create truly world-class music and build audiences for our artists across the globe.”

Bosidis added, “Mushroom Music is about investing in its artists and songwriters, staying true to its commitment to nurture and empower diverse talent. This initiative is about building on our independent legacy, creating an ecosystem where creativity can blossom, and careers can thrive. I am excited for this new chapter as co-CEO alongside Chris Maund and to collaborate with our exceptional team.”

The rest of the Mushroom Music team includes Damian Slevison (Managing Director, A&R and Commercial), Dan Baker (Managing Director, Strategy & Audience), Julia Hill (Director, Media & Artist Relations), Dean McLachlan (Senior Director, Iconic Artists and Catalogue), Korda Marshall (Managing Director World ex-ANZ), Erol Yurdagul (Senior Director, A&R and Creative), Layne Buckley (Manager, A&R), Johann Ponniah (Founder, I OH YOU Group), Nick Dunshea (Senior Director, International & Operations), and Madeleine O’Gorman (General Manager of UK/Europe).
