Bad BunnyThe Emmy Awards return for their 78th edition this September, celebrating the best moments in television over the last year.
Today, the nominees across several categories were announced, including in music-based awards. Major stars, including Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Sabrina Carpenter, are among the nominees.
Bad Bunny is one of the most-nominated individuals for this year’s Emmy Awards, with his Super Bowl halftime show, titled The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny, nominated across nine categories – the most ever for a halftime show.
His nominations include Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Production Design For A Variety Special, Directing For A Variety Special, Nonfiction Or Reality Program, Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For A Special, and more.
As Stereogum notes, Outstanding Variety Special (Live) is the only category where Bad Bunny would be credited as a winner, as he had a producer credit on the show, while the others are all technical awards.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, has been nominated for five awards.

Swift, a performer and producer on the project, would receive the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) only if her concert film wins the award.
Elsewhere, Lady Gaga has been nominated for the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics Emmy after co-writing The Dead Dance, which featured in the Netflix hit series, Wednesday. And Taylor Swift isn’t the only one to be nominated for the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) award; she’s joined by Sabrina Carpenter, who appeared on Disney’s The Muppet Show reboot.
Other musical nominees include Daveed Diggs of Clipse fame, competing against Lady Gaga in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for co-writing and performing Raise Him Up on The Boys, while Hans Zimmer has received a nod in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special category for Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, ‘The Big Freeze’.
