There’s big news coming out of triple j, as Ash McGregor, the host of the Home & Hosed program, is departing the role after five years at the end of the month. Stepping into her place is fellow Australian music enthusiast Anika Luna.
McGregor’s final show will take place on Thursday, 31 July, from 7 pm AEST. Luna will make her debut on Home & Hosed on Monday, 4 August, at 7 pm. You can listen to triple j on the radio, stream online, or through the app.
McGregor’s career at triple j began as Breakfast Producer in 2020, stepping into the spotlight of the Home & Hosed position not long after. With McGregor at the helm, the program grew from a one-hour program to a two-hour celebration of local music.
In addition to her work on Home & Hosed, McGregor helped curate the national youth broadcaster’s Gig Guide and championed Australian music through triple j’s social media channels, pitching and recommending artists, among other tasks. She’s been part of triple j’s most memorable moments, including One Night Stand and the Hottest 100.
Anika Luna is a familiar voice for triple j listeners; many would recognise her from Unearthed, Late Nights, and Live At The Wireless.
Since getting her start at the Melbourne-based student-led community radio station SYN, Luna has grown into someone who’s tapped into the Australian music scene, discovering artists and going to tons of gigs. She has been the Community Producer of Unearthed since 2023 and somehow found time to write 3,500 reviews of the tunes uploaded.

Describing her five years at triple j as the “greatest honour,” McGregor said, “Hosting Home & Hosed has been a literal dream come true. If you told 13-year-old Ash, who was entering every radio comp, hitting every underage gig in Brisbane, and making playlists of local bands for her mates that she’d one day get paid to do this? No way!
“It’s been the greatest honour to be trusted with artists' songs, to shout about the wild talent in this country, and to help champion Australian music on a global stage. I deeply love the community we’ve built. We've got two weeks left, so to everyone who's spent their weeknights with me, thank you! I'll see you soon.”
Luna added, “Australian music is my oxygen! I know first-hand that this country holds the most spectacular creatives on this planet, so stepping up to the Home & Hosed podium is the highest honour and truly a dream come true. I’m so ready to continue uplifting the next generation of Australian artists, strengthening our music community on air and IRL!”
