TOOLS DOWN: Joey Lightbulb’s Work Christmas Party.Come along for an all-time boogie knowing there will be no repercussions, no awkward chats on Monday, just a full-blown rager.
10 reasons why this will sell out:
1. Lightbulb is doing a FIVE HOUR SET IN THE ROUND 9pm-2am.
2. There will be no pesky poles getting in your way (we’re converting them to watercoolers). This is a Boiler Room style event where everyone is a part of the action.
3. One-off guest performances from Henry Wagons, Queenie, Kylie Auldist, Sose Fuamoli, Cameron Adams, Wet Leg Wet Nurses and more to be announced.
4. You'll hear music from LCD Soundsystem, Peggy Gou, Kylie Minogue, Mau P, Bloc Party, Fennec, Todd Terje, KiNK, Radiohead, Charli XCX, Jaydee, Daphni/Caribou, David Bowie, RONA, Yo Speed, Koze, DJ Assault, Jamie xx, The Avalanches, The Presets, Pangaea and Underworld.
5. Lightbulb is taking song requests. DM his Instagram or e: mikeycahillvibes@gmail.com and shoot your shot.
6. Joey SOLD OUT every show on his Winter of Disco Content tour: Barwon Heads Hotel, Boomtown Wines in Castlemaine, Northcote Social Club and The Night Cat. 1700 tickets (!).
7. This is a CRINGE-FREE ZONE. Haven’t you heard? Cringe is dead.
8. There will be no performance review. HR is banned.
9. The NO DICKHEADS rule is once again in place. Works in The Sup’, works in The Night Cat, will work here too.
10. This might be the best bit, the dress code. You can either come as you are, as you were as I want you to be or (drumroll) you and your squad make up a fake company and attend as business associates/colleagues. Think lanyards, ill-fitting ties, power suits etc. Because after all is said and done, what are friends but the company you keep?
