School Sport Australia Games 04 (SSAG04) Opening Ceremony

Celebrate the official commencement of the 2026 School Sport Australia Games 04 as student athletes from across Australia come together in Melbourne for a week of national competition.

The Opening Ceremony will feature the Parade of Teams, official welcomes, athlete and official oaths, and entertainment, providing a memorable start to the Games for athletes, officials, families, and supporters.

Date: 25 July 2026Venue: Melbourne Showgrounds

Festival Gates Open: 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Athletes, families, officials and supporters are invited to enjoy the Festival prior to the Opening Ceremony, featuring activities, displays and opportunities to celebrate the commencement of the Games.

Team/Athlete Assembly: 5:00pm

All student athletes are required to assemble with their team officials at 5:00pm in preparation for the Parade of Teams.

Opening Ceremony Commences: 5:30pmCeremony Concludes: Approximately 6:30pm

All athletes, officials, families and spectators are welcome to attend.

Ticket Information

Tickets are limited to a maximum of five (5) per order. Please ensure your ticket is available upon arrival for scanning by event staff. Seating is general admission unless otherwise advised.

Refer to the ticketing platform for current charges and options.  Entry to the Opening Ceremony is limited to ticket holders only. This is an 'alcohol-free' event. Please do not bring alcohol on-site. Melbourne Showgrounds is a strict 'no smoking / vaping venue.' Flashing lights, loud sounds and pyrotechnics may be featured in this event. Please consider this warning in the context of any pre-existing health conditions before attending.
