Hudson Freeman Announces First Australian and New Zealand Headline Tour Ahead of Mumford and Sons Support Run

Brooklyn‑based lo‑fi folk artist Hudson Freeman today announces his first ever Australian and New Zealand headline tour, following a period of growing international attention and a support slot on Mumford and Sons upcoming national tour.

The tour will commence on Thursday 23 April 2026 at The Toff in Melbourne, before continuing with performances, supporting Mumford and Sons at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne on Friday 24 April and Saturday 25 April, followed by Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 28 April, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney on Wednesday 29 April, and concluding with a headline show at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney on Thursday 30 April. The run will then continue across New Zealand with shows in Wellington and Auckland in early May.

Forged in the DIY traditions of the American Midwest, Hudson Freeman has quickly emerged as one of indie music’s most compelling new voices. His songs are resonant, reflective and deeply poignant, shaped by a life lived between contrasts. Born to Evangelical missionaries, Freeman began writing music after a formative upheaval at thirteen, when his family relocated from suburban Dallas to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Those early experiences, alongside the influence of indie touchstones such as Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver and his college years in Springfield, Missouri, helped define his raw, self‑made approach to songwriting.

Freeman’s recent full‑length release cemented his reputation as a songwriter unafraid to confront life’s most draining contradictions, exploring themes of modern identity, digital disconnection and faith with striking honesty. His latest single, If You Know Me, has drawn increasing attention, pushing him into a wider spotlight with its moody blend of bedroom pop, folk, slowcore and post‑emo, anchored by a singular guitar riff and mantra‑like lyrics that highlight his undeniable gift for melody.

This upcoming headline run will be Australian audiences’ first chance to experience Hudson Freeman in a fully realised live setting, where his quiet intensity and unguarded storytelling transform performances into moments of shared reflection. The tour coincides with Freeman joining Mumford & Sons as a special guest across Australia and New Zealand, marking a significant moment in the ascent of one of indie folk’s most emotionally resonant new voices.
