PREMIERE: Architecture & Artistry Meet In White Summer's Vivid 'Talk Me Through' Video

The Melbourne indie-rockers released their new single this Friday past.

Melbourne outfit White Summer have just released their new single, Talk Me Through, and are about to set off for an extensive tour in support — but, before they hit the road, you can feast your eyes on the very cool video for the smooth new jam, premiering on theMusic.com.au today.

Shot and edited by bassist Anthony Zielke and vocalist Jimmy Stanfield, the video sets soft-lit footage of the latter against abstract city sights, an effort by the pair to capture on film Stanfield's longtime interest in "raw, brutalist architecture".

"We began with a strong idea of what colour palette we felt would work best for the track and locations we wanted to seek out, so it was just a matter of building a narrative within this world," the singer explained. "It's been a massive learning experience for us, and we're super-happy with the end product.

"Like any creative undertaking, you encounter problems along the way and your vision may skew and warp, but we're all very happy with the end result."

Added Zielke: "We both had a strong idea of the imagery that this song emotes to us personally and thought the best way to translate that visually was through colours and the obscure shot selection of the clip to create what we were hoping to be an unknown city."

Having landed this past Friday, the single itself is the second to be released from the band's impending debut studio full-length, tastes of which will no doubt be heard on their upcoming 10-date tour.

They get under way at home in Melbourne, at Gasometer upstairs, this Saturday, 28 October, before heading on to Sydney, Wollongong, back to Melbourne (supporting British India), on to Adelaide, then Belgrave and San Remo (both supporting Ash Grunwald), Aireys Inlet, Castlemaine (another Grunwald support), Hobart and a final hometown show at The Workers Club on 16 December.
