Sloan Peterson Dishes On Her Favourite Covers Of All Time

From King Princess to Pomplamoose, Sloan Peterson confesses her favourite cover songs to celebrate the release of her new E.P 'Lost Illusions' (out now).

Strange Effect - The Shacks (Originally by The Kinks)

When I first heard the song by The Kinks, I could only find the live version online and was obsessed. I would cover the song live because I loved it so much, then Spotify Radio randomly played this cover by The Shacks, and I’ve been more obsessed with this version ever since.

King Princess - Femme Fatale (Originally by The Velvet Underground)

King Princess has the best husky voice, which gave me a lot of inspiration when I first started writing my EP. I found this cover of Femme Fatale, which actually gave me more of a push to do my cover of ‘There Are Worse Things I Can Do’ from Grease.

Lovefool – Pomplamoose (Originally by The Cardigans)

Also, another song that I used to play live with the Allstar Young Henry's band in 2019. I am very into French aesthetics, lifestyle and music, so this cover just gives me everything I love in one song!

Right Down The Line - Sam Evian (Originally by Gerry Rafferty)

Sam Evian has been one of my favourite artists over the last year. I even reached out to him to do a collab because I loved another collab he did with a female artist. He actually replied and followed me back, which blew my mind... But this cover just slaps!

Harvest Moon - Poolside (Originally by Neil Young)

Neil Young isn't one of my fave artists, but Harvest Moon gets me every time! This dream pop version reminds me of warm afternoons by the beach with friends having a boogie and just makes me smile!
