Local upstarts Kettlespider exist within a genre that is respected yet limited. However, it’s events like the annual Progfest, which give bands a chance to excel. On the eve of their Melbourne show – their first of 2014 – the group is relaxed and enthusiastic.

Our Mrs Mac's Creative Project gets a new original tune from DYP.. The track you will hear in the final Mrs Mac's Creative Project video (dropping Tuesday 2 Septembe) was created over one weekend by Perth-via-Adelaide producer DYP. Called Ardent, he made the majority of it on a gloomy Sunday, drawing on Andrew's skating and Shadow Data's visual projection magic for inspiration. He was kind enough to give it up for FREE DOWNLOAD too, and believe us when we say it has been getting serious play time in the office since we started this project. Hopefully this track inspires you to pack up on a whim and go out on your own roadtrip, and either way we all hope you dig it as much as we do:

The Melbourne five-piece are on the verge of dropping their debut EP, and Life Tourist is a great start.. Foreign/National are five guys outta Melbourne who, according to that ever-reliable source of information Facebook, like beer and Mortal Kombat. We like both of those things too, so it was pretty much destiny that we'd like their breezy brand of psych-pop, which is all out for display on new single Life Tourist. Because I'm a child of my generation, I'm gonna bandy about comparisons like early-days MGMT and Tame Impala, but that's just to give you, fair-weather blog explorer, some recognisable names to clutch on to. It's dreamy stuff, and I look forward to their upcoming debut EP release, due September via Downtime. Follow Foreign/National: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD
