If you're twenty-something years old, then chances are that Yellowcard were one of the bands that soundtracked your youth. Upon the release of their breakthrough album 'Ocean Avenue' in 2003, the band blew up in the worldwide alternative music scene. Now, a decade later, the group has done a lot of growing up, and is set to release their most mature record to date, 'Lift A Sail' this October. We had the chance to talk to violinist Sean Mackin about the record, as well as about their return to Australia next year with Mayday Parade.

We headed along to the first instalment of Stranded and learnt a few things about partying on an island.

"My intimate language was Finnish, my everyday language was French, and my musical language was English."

Jackie Onassis drop a new single/video and a run of club shows to celebrate.. After rocking the biggest venues of their careers as part of the recent One Day tour (check some recent love for them HERE), Jackie Onassis are showing no signs of turning down with the announcement of a series of national club shows to support new single NSY. To get the ball rolling as they steam towards the release of a new album early next year, the duo have thrown down NSY for free, complete with Jackie Onassis's patented brand of hip hop banger - progressive synths, crisp drums and a big chorus that will settle very quickly in your brain. The tune also comes with a self-produced video clip directed by Horrorshow/One Day's Adit, keeping the inner west family vibes going. Check the clip below, grab a free download from the Soundcloud embed, and scope all the dates after that. NSY TOUR DATES - Tickets from Oct 4/Door Thur 6 Nov - Hel’oco @ Wharf Tavern, Mooloolaba, QLD   Fri 7 Nov - The TBC Club, Brisbane

I OH YOU's new bae drops the first official single from her New Clear War EP.. Following the introduction of DMA's earlier this year, I OH YOU have pretty quickly proven a knack for unearthing talent you may not know yet, but will quickly fall in love with. Such is the case for their latest signing, Montgomery, when they announced the young artist with the single War Cry (listen HERE) a couple of weeks back. We were instantly crushing hard, and the vibe only gets stronger after listening to the first official single from her upcoming New Clear War EP - Piñata. Same as War Cry, the track was co-produced by Montgomery and Tom Scary (Tom Iansek of Big Scary fame), and again carries a similar melancholic vibe, with rolling drums and Montgomery's ethereal vocals plucking at the heartstrings. It's a beautiful sound, and we can't wait for New Clear War to come out - October 24 via I OH YOU. Follow Montgomery: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE

Sydney's Spirit Faces takes us on an emotional couple of minutes on Hold It Down feat. Zebra Zap..

We talk spirit animals and Twitter haters with "the worst musician on earth".. Merrill Garbus AKA Tune-Yards has had a pretty good 2014 that has seen the release of her new album Nikki Nack, a killer follow-up to her breakout album WHOKILL from 2011. Noted for her percussive style, Tune-Yards has never been overly easy to define, but there-in lies her uniqueness. Bounding between anything from indie-pop, worldbeat and lo-fi, to Afro-beat, folk and indie, her set at Splendour In The Grass this year had all in a dancing feel good frenzy. We had the chance to chat with her backstage, do a bit of duck-fishing and play some paper-scissors-rock. Follow Tune-Yards: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE

Antiskeptic are back, and they are here to stay! With their latest album since reforming, 'Stare Down The Ocean' out now, the band is touring the country and reminding us all why we missed them so much. We chatted to drummer Nick Coppin in regards to the album, the tour and reforming.

The One Hundred are something else... in the best way possible! Combining the best bit of hardcore, elecotnrica, EDM, Dubstep, Uk Grind, Rap, Hip Hop and plenty of other genres, these London boys have a sparkling future. We caught up with vocalist Jacob Field to discuss the band's sporadic sound and their debut EP 'Subculture'.

We had a chat with Paces whilst soaking up the sun at Stranded Festival.
