This year’s installment of the Meredith has just gotten a hell of lot better with their third Artist announcement, headed up by Tame Impala.

It’s completely sold out and it’s no wonder. This year’s installment of the MEREDITH MUSIC FESTIVAL has all the necessary ingredients to be one of the best festivals of recent years – and it’s just gotten a hell of lot better.

As their early December dates creep that little bit closer, the ever mysterious Aunty Meredith has somehow managed to fit in another Artist announcement (that’s the third for anyone playing at home) for the festival. And although this one is a little bit smaller in the number of acts, it is no means any less exciting for anyone who was lucky enough to grab tickets.

Heading up announcement number three, is Australia’s sons of psychedelia - better known as Tame Impala. This will be their first visit to the Supernatural Amphitheater since 2008, and we've been promised that they will be playing a lot later than their previous slot of 11am. Their addition to the bill comes on the back of what has already been a huge 2012 for the Perth locals. Not only has their sophomore LP, Lonerism, been dubbed one of the best albums of the year; they have also played some mind blowing sets at Splendour In The Grass and most recently, on the Parklife tour.

Although the lineup featured some of the worlds most credible and tastemaking Electronic acts, with Spiritualized, Four Tet and Grimes all heading down to Victoria in a couple of months. There seemed to be a lack of pure dance party awesomeness that the early hours of Meredith are usually filled with - that was, until now.  2012 will see the return of the pre-internet dancefloor symphonies, Itch-E And Scratch-E (aka Paul Mac and Andy Rantzen). On top of this, DJ Flagrant will be providing his infamous AV/DJ set for the Saturday night.

Rounding out the new acts, are a number of upcoming locals in the form of: The Murlocs – who are coming off winning themselves at spot at the Melbourne leg of Harvest; Hiatus Kaiyote - some Sunday morning soul music to get you through your weekend hangover; and Boomgates – you know, that Melbourne supergroup that features members of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Twerps, Trial Kennedy, Dick Diver and Teen Archer.

Aunty Meredith, you have outdone yourself this year. We salute you.
