Briefly describe your show. An intoxicating blend of hot blues and jazz, theatre and burlesque. She calls him 25 years after they split with the offer of a part in her show. He says yes but during rehearsal soon feels she has other plans.

What was the inspiration behind your show? I wondered if it were possible to construct a musical experience which used different songs by different writers in an idiom with which I was familiar to illustrate a longer narrative. The songs carry the show and the dialogue provides the general direction the story takes.

What makes your show different? The combination of great songs played by great musicians who are all pre-eminent in their field, a strong story and burlesque routines that are sexy, sensual and sassy and illustrate exactly what is happening make this show an amazing theatrical experience.

What was the biggest challenge you encountered in this show? The full theatrical production of the show is nearly two hours. Bringing that down to an hour to fit with the Fringe format has been difficult... but in a good way. We’ve managed to keep all of the key elements of the production – music, story, dance – really strong. It packs a punch in the hour format.

Why did you decide to do Fringe 2015? And have you been involved in previous/interstate Fringe festivals and how was the experience? This is our first Fringe anywhere. It’s been a big learning curve. All the musicians in the band have done music festivals all over the world but this is our first arts festival. They operate very differently. The Artists and Venues Team at the Fringe office are amazing. All the back office stuff works really well.

What do you love about Fringe Festival besides all the shows? We don’t have a lot of down time. Between performances we are out publicising the show. We have some street events happening in Rundle Mall and elsewhere most days as well as radio and live performances.

What are you excited to see at this year’s Fringe? We’ll be really excited to see our audiences having a great time. We’ll also have a look at some of the circus acts.

And for a fun random one, in a fantasy world who would you be the love child of? Mae West and Muddy Waters.
