"It's as heavy as it is ridiculous - a real rollercoaster of a story."

Independent comedian Nick Robertson has announced his debut solo tour of Australia and New Zealand ahead of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) season, announcing dates in Melbourne and for the Fringe festivals in Fremantle, Adelaide and Wellington. Details for his Dunedin date are coming soon.
The fun begins on Friday, 19 January – Sunday, 21 January, at Fringe World, with Robertson putting on shows at the Fremantle Comedy Factory.
From there, Robertson will take the Leave To Enter tour to Adelaide Fringe (Monday, 26 February – Sunday, 3 March) at Secret Basement at WEA, New Zealand Fringe, Wellington (Thursday, 7 March – Saturday, 9 March) at the New Athenaeum Theatre, and MICF (Tuesday, 9 April – Sunday, 21 April) at the Chinese Museum. Tickets are on sale now via the respective festival/venue websites.
Dubbed a “genius” comedian by Tim Minchin, Robertson promises nights full of trips through the mundane – “poor advice from my mother, my obsession with Candy Crush” and the ridiculous – the time that he, the most Scottish-looking person, was deported from Scotland.
Robertson’s tour arrives after eight years away from the stage, in which the Melbourne comedian worked behind the scenes in the comedy industry as a vital member of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and venues of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
In a statement, Robertson said about the Leave To Enter tour, “It's been really cathartic telling the story. My chest feels lighter, but it makes me realise just how silly the whole ordeal was. It's as heavy as it is ridiculous - a real rollercoaster of a story.”
