Five minutes with Sheridan Harbridge.
If an actor was to play you in a movie who would it be? Helena Bonham Carter, but I would much rather that I get to play her.
What's the most cringeworthy thing you've seen on stage? A terrible one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe where the woman clomped through coloured pencils she had strewn on the floor, and crunched them in high heels. She then picked up a pair of scissors and climbed over the audience with them swinging wide open. The audience freakout was heavenly.
What's the weirdest place you've seen a performances? You can perform anywhere in the States without being stopped – apparently it comes under freedom of speech. I bought a ticket to the subway and watched a show on the platform, as trains pulled in and out and commuters got off and on. Really wonderful.
What/who inspires you artistically? True stories so outrageous that you couldn't think them up.

What was the first play you saw? It may have been a very dull Romeo & Juliet, and I was a little turd throwing paper planes made out of the program off the dress circle.
Do you have a pre-show ritual? Coffee, wine and a downward dog.
If you weren't a performer what would you be doing? Putting on weight, watching The Colbert Report all day.
