Four Tet

Four Tet

Kieran Hebden (born September 1977), known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting and critically acclaimed albums such as Rounds (2003), Everything Ecstatic (2005) and There Is Love in You (2010). In addition to his eleven studio albums as Four Tet, Hebden's work includes a number of improvisational works with jazz drummer Steve Reid and collaborations with Burial and Thom Yorke.

Alongside his own recordings, Hebden has produced albums by American improvisational group Sunburned Hand of the Man and Syrian dabke singer Omar Souleyman, and arranged the 2021 Madlib album Sound Ancestors. He has also remixed tracks by artists including Aphex Twin, Bicep, Explosions in the Sky, Bloc Party, Super Furry Animals, Radiohead, Ellie Goulding, J Dilla, Lana Del Rey, Manic Street Preachers, Sia, Black Sabbath and Madvillain; several of these were collected on the compilation Remixes (2006). He has additionally performed DJ mixes, including sets with American producer Skrillex and British producer Fred Again.

New Music: Four Tet - Parallel Jalebi (Hudson Mohawke Remix)
Download Hudson Mohawke's awesome contribution to LuckyMe’s advent calendar.. The 2013 Four Tet album that this track comes off, Beautiful Rewind, is an all time favourite of mine. Packed with introspective, oddball, tech house-flavored beats, I like how Four Tet favours more experimentation on it a heap more than his other releases. Glasgow native / Kanye West collaborator Hudson Mohawke's taken one of the spacier tracks from that album, Parallel Jalebi, and injected some energy into it, and sharpened its abstract edges. The track's been released for a record label and artist collective from his hometown, Lucky Me, who each year put out a music advent calendar, releasing brand new rarities, alternate versions, and exclusives that span the sound of the LuckyMe family. One each day for free download for every day of December until Christmas - by the end it's a nice 25-track compilation. New Music - John Talabot, Four Tet, Koreless & Jamie xx - Continuum Soundtrack
What a lineup.. If you were impressed by the music video for Jamie xx’s Sleep Sound released earlier this year, you will want to check out the incredible work of London-based artists Sofia Mattioli and Rebecca Salvadori. These two creative minds have been long time collaborators, and their latest production is an eight-minute video, reportedly created using iPhones, called Continuum. The clips were sent to four of the world's most exciting and forward-thinking producers; John Talabot, Four Tet, Jamie xx and Koreless, who were asked to write music accompanying the clips. Mattioli told the producers: “What I want everyone to do is go into their own space in their own head, and imagine the piece of music they would put with it.” The stunning results can be watched online at HERE, and the producers individual efforts can be streamed/downloaded below:

Album Review: Four Tet - Beautiful Rewind
Its eclectic time signatures and vocal loops will hardly please everyone, but to those they will – that’ll hardly matter a bit.
