As a testament to the band’s brilliant performance they left the venue having sold every copy of their album on the merch desk, and should be happy knowing those records will be put to good use.

"We’ve got the most ludicrous bar area ever, and it’s just nice to have an unintended space that people just want to fucking come and see stuff at."

"It’s a bit of a different sound for us, actually – it’s got more of a grunge edge to it than our other stuff and lyrically, it’s pulling on those same darker undertones that our songs have, but catering towards a grungier style on punk."

"We try to keep things democratic, which can be pretty slow at times, but it just means everyone’s putting ideas forward and that’s always a good thing."

Hermitude kept the energy levels up with their performed-on-the-spot beats and were followed by the bizarre and highly energetic showcase of Crystal Fighters.

Many ears were ringing by the end of what was an enjoyable evening, and we’ll all be hoping the bands who played that evening have a super busy live schedule planned for next year.

It was a fantastic evening for all involved and the ‘Fanthers’ will certainly be hoping their idols will be back on our shores soon.
