It was a fantastic evening for all involved and the ‘Fanthers’ will certainly be hoping their idols will be back on our shores soon.

More Steel Panther More Steel Panther

Steel Panther shows are always highly anticipated, and if anyone thought the band's second Perth gig in just over 12 months would deter punters from buying tickets, they were sorely mistaken. Plenty were still scrambling into the venue as Fozzy took the stage, and the heavy metal band, fronted by professional wrestler Chris Jericho, hilariously told us that we were simply a crowd too poor to purchase Bon Jovi tickets. Funnily enough, Jericho looked a little like Jovi, who was playing just across the road at Perth Arena. Anyway, the group were incredibly entertaining and certainly earned a new fan in this writer.

Next up was Buckcherry – they were a little harder than the openers, and were just as fun; their cover of Icona Pop's I Love It was actually super awesome, however, things got a little creepy when vocalist Josh Todd took his shirt off – the girls in the front row loved it, but the sexualised dancing was a little bizarre.

It's easy to see why Steel Panther are so appealing – they've taken the most hedonistic of all music genres and made everything about it a whole lot more excessive by infusing an extreme blend of pulsating, sex-fuelled glam rock. Blasting onto the stage and launching into Eyes Of A Panther, they had the crowd singing along from the word go, with frontman Michael Starr boasting his vocal strength while making eye-contact with as many women as he could. New tune Party Like It's The End Of The World was accompanied by a film clip, which showcased the band's sexual virtues and was well received. There was plenty of banter between songs, and although it seemed a little rehearsed, the content was hilarious. They encored with popular singalongs Community Property,Party All Day and 17 Girls In A Row, before advising the crowd to get on cocaine and party all night. It was a fantastic evening for all involved and the 'Fanthers' will certainly be hoping their idols will be back on our shores soon.
