Members of The Go-Betweens, The Birthday Party, Died Pretty, Models, and many others will pay tribute to a music icon in January 2026.

A star-studded bunch of Australian rockers will pay tribute to the iconic Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground & Nico, with a January 2026 national tour.
Curating a setlist of Lou Reed’s groundbreaking days in The Velvet Underground to his influential solo career, the following singer-songwriters will pay homage to the iconic artist: The Go-Betweens’ Robert Forster, The Birthday Party/The Bad Seeds’ Mick Harvey, Dave Graney of Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes’ fame, The Triffids’ Rob Snarski, and Stefanie Duzel.
In addition to those on vocals, a talented band starring Died Pretty’s Robbie Warren, Models’ Barton Price and Roger Mason, Glide’s Paul McDonald and Caligula’s Mark Tobin will perform the instrumentals.
The tour begins at The Metro in Sydney on Saturday, 24 January, followed by Brisbane’s The Triffid on Sunday, 25 January, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, 30 January, and concludes at Adelaide’s The Gov on Saturday, 31 January.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, 17 July, at 10 am local time, followed by the general sale on Monday, 20 July, at 10 am local time. Tickets will be available via the Metropolis Touring website.
According to a press release, the singers and band will perform a diverse range of tunes from Reed’s expansive catalogue, going from from I’m Waiting For The Man to Perfect Day, Venus In Furs to Satellite of Love, Sweet Jane to Vicious, Pale Blue Eyes to Walk On The Wild Side, Femme Fatale to Coney Island Baby, and even more.
