It’s been almost a decade since American trio Nada Surf graced our shores, and Brisbane has turned out a sold out crowd in the very special Spiegeltent during its Brisbane Festival visit to welcome them back.

Sheriff are going from strength to strength, and even though Cherry Bar isn’t bursting at the seams like it was on that night, it could be argued that the set they throw down tonight is as good as any.

Their performance is sans bravado or wank and they play hard, however shy the crowd. They are furiously good.

At the other end of the spectrum, Yellowcard are gracefully revealing their age, from the moment they hit the stage they are pleasant, polite, damn excited and, admittedly, a little tired after a performance that afternoon at Fat As Butter.
