Mosh-driven Disaster Path had the difficult task of opening the show at an awkwardly early 6.15pm with their down-tempo, breakdown-heavy brand of hardcore.

After officially launching the single In The Morning, and putting on an entertaining freestyle with Jones, his anthem Days closes the night. If these three hip hop stars are anything to go by, the future of Australian hip hop looks bright.

It’s hard not to love a band that provokes thought and challenges musical perceptions – even while doing the dishes – in such an undemanding yet pleasurable manner.

It was a Herculean performance punctuated with aggression and sweat; melodic hardcore seems to be gaining popularity at an exponential rate and tonight’s showcase illustrated exactly why.
