As the venue emptied, there wasn’t an underwhelmed punter to be seen; everyone was in good spirits and undoubtedly already looking forward to the next gig. After all, there ain’t no party like a Dune Rats party.

Chief vocalist Nick Finch seems genuine when he expresses how much they love playing in Brisbane and assures they’ll be back soon, before they end with The Priest and the rousing Bit By A Dog. No encore is necessary – the crowd reciprocates Graveyard Train’s love for Brissie completely and utterly already.

The atmosphere was chaotic as the group played through Red Light Green Light, and the rampant nature of the crowd continued right up until the end, which would have no doubt left some attendees feeling quite sore on Sunday morning.

There’s not much interaction between the band members, but individually they keep their shit locked tight enough.

Of course Henry ended up in the crowd, a little concerned that we were being a bit too musical, telling everyone to, “Just sing your fucking guts out. Don’t worry about pitch, you pedants!” So we did.
