"What’s clear is that the Leeds band’s second full-length is well-written, well-arranged and very well-executed."
For all the common elements to this record – guitar-driven pop, cheery breakdowns, strong lyrics – it seems a long time since an album like To Kill A King has been released.
Maybe it’s the thoughtful production that values singer Ralph Pelleymounter’s haunting vocals above everything else. Maybe it’s the aural meander that happens over the album’s 11 tracks. Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of light and dark that happens in songs like Oh My Love. What’s clear is that the Leeds band’s second full-length is well-written, well-arranged and very well-executed.
