"The haunting 'Till We Ghosts', with Yasiin Bey in tow, takes the less-is-more approach."

Gifted South African newcomer Yannick Iluga debuts his melodic fusion of styles and influences from his native land on EP, The King Of Anxiety, under alter ego Petite Noir.

Iluga’s resonating synths and percussive backing on single Chess have enough pop flair to carry this young man into the spotlight, yet he reveals a knack for showing restraint where needed. Shadows is the ultimate example, his lofty vocal doing the hard yards over some simple beats and synth lines, while even the haunting Till We Ghosts, with Yasiin Bey in tow, takes the less-is-more approach.
