"Although exuded with simplicity, creates an almost intense aura for the listener by questioning the authenticity of the very world we live in"

Inspired by a lengthy stint living and working in southern California, Mark Sholtez shows he’s a songwriter with depth.

The 11-track record sees themes of love, hope and discontent play out and although exuded with simplicity, creates an almost intense aura for the listener by questioning the authenticity of the very world we live in: “All the deadbeats and the dreamers on the low roads and the freeways, does anybody get where they’re going?”

Sholtez is a true talent, his knack for combining poetry, like that of Neil Young’s, with contemporary Americana sounds is impressive. The album is a subtle, intriguing collection of tracks that’s screaming out to be heard, and truly listened to.
