"A sonic mind-fuck that is so bizarrely good you can't help but be fascinated."

If jazz and metal are your bag, you might want to wrap your ears around Brain Tentacles.

The supergroup of sorts (the trio features members from Municipal Waste, Yakuza and Keelhaul) has unleashed a debut that ricochets between styles — speed in opener Kingda Ka, a bit of doom in the nine-minute, two-chord dirge that is Cosmic Warriors Girth Curse, and a bass and beat heavy mix of them all throughout. And hey, may as well throw in some sax and Indian motifs too (Fruitcake, The Sadist). It's a sonic mind-fuck that is so bizarrely good you can't help but be fascinated by the neat moments of chaos.
