Let's just pretend for a moment it went like this: Rock'n'roll; Summer Of Love; '00s psych-rock.

With no punk, no '80s excesses and no grunge to artificialise the process, Brisbanite Alex L'Estrange's new EP (named after the jacaranda tree-lined Brissie suburb, not a pretty bloom) grows from those collective pollens, standing all the stronger for it. There's a lyrical twirliness and psych-ey punch to Oh&S and when L'Estrange asks "How could I stay inside?" in Nothing To Hide, it feels a new favourite star of the summer festival circuit is born.
