Adam Hills: Happyism

More Adam Hills More Adam Hills

Former Spicks and Specks host and all-round nice guy Adam Hills gave a stellar performance with his latest stage show Happyism at the Riverside Theatre, covering everything from telling an awkward cancer joke on US talk show Chelsea Lately to racism, cyber bullying and performing with the Dalai Lama to Kermit the Frog.

While his new material is edgier than what some of his older fans may have expected, Hills never came off as cruel or malicious thanks to his ever charming and good-natured delivery.

While his rendition of the Australian National Anthem to the tune of Jimmy Barne's 'Working Class Man' is a live favourite, it was the only part of the set that really didn't seemed to gel with the rest of the material.

Nevertheless, Hills won over his audience and even received a standing ovation from the majority of the crowd as he left the stage.
