"Much has changed in the two years since we announced the tour, and individual members of the band."
Legendary Aussie rock outfit Zoot have cancelled what would have been their first shows in Australia in more than 50 years.
The band, who rose to fame in the late '60s and '70s, planned to reform for a national tour, with a band line-up that featured Beeb Birtles, Rick Springfield, Rick Brewer and Russell Morris, performing in dedication to late lead singer Darryl Cotton who died of liver cancer in 2012.
The tour was initially confirmed for 2020, before being postponed twice until late this year.
In a press statement, the band stated, "It is with much sadness and disappointment that we must announce that the Zoot tour of Australia is cancelled.

"Much has changed in the two years since we announced the tour, and individual members of the band, whilst excited about the potential offered by the tour, are now unfortunately not in a position whereby they can move forward with the tour as scheduled.
"Rather than postpone the tour yet again, the decision has been taken to cancel the tour and refund all ticketholders.
"It may be that the tour can be rescheduled in the future, and if so, we will notify all of new dates."
All current ticket holders will be contacted about refund details in the next three days.
