The celebrated prog/psych-rock luminaries will be honoured with a special stamps this July to celebrate half-a-century since their inception
The British Royal Mail is commemorating the 50th anniversary of iconic prog/psych-rockers Pink Floyd with a set of 10 special stamps to be released in the UK this July.
As the BBC reports, the set of stamps includes 10 different designs, six of which are based on the band's album covers and four additional 'live' stamps.
The albums given the postage treatment are The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967), Atom Heart Mother (1970), The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and 2014's The Endless River, while the live-photo set captures moments from the UFO Club in 1966, on tour for The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1973, on The Wall tour in 1981, and 1994's The Division Bell tour.
Although The Division Bell doesn't appear among the album collection due next month, the 1994 LP was included as part of a Classic Album Covers set of stamps released by the Royal Mail in 2010, which also included David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars, Blur's Parklife, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, The Clash's London Calling and more.
