When American cycling champion Lance Armstrong was found guilty of using performance-enhancing drugs and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles in 2012, the world was divided in opinion.
Many believed he was a drug cheat who got what he deserved, while others maintained he was a fighting competitor who overcame testicular cancer to become one of the greatest sporting champions in the world.
But in the newly released trailer for the biopic based on the athlete, The Program, Armstrong is hardly depicted as a fair and honest man.
Directed by Academy-award winning filmmaker Stephen Frears and based on journalist David Walsh's book, Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit Of Lance Armstrong, the movie focuses on Walsh, played by fan favourite Chris O'Dowd, who refuses to believe Armstrong earned his success fairly and begins a 13 year investigation to uncover him as a fraud.
Playing the role of the disgraced athlete is US actor Ben Foster who gives a chilling insight to the man who worked tirelessly on the track and off to keep his drug-taking under wraps.

Set to the theme of Placebo's Running Up That Hill, the trailer indeed suggests that in this film, Armstrong is a bad man, as he says to another character during the clip, "I have the money and the power to destroy you."
The new trailer only runs for under two minutes but it will come as no surprise to see O'Dowd and Foster in talks during award seasons who hint at some career-highlight performances in the clip.
Also starring in the new film includes Hollywood royalty Dustin Hoffman and Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons.
The Program is due to hit Aussie cinemas on Nov 19 — check out the trailer below.
