Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega had a memorable dance scene in the first season of the hit Netflix series.

In a Nosy Cookie Jar interview brought to us by Netflix, Ortega revealed the song she will not dance to and sits atop her do-not-play list. It turns out that the song she chose comes from close to home.

"I’m not big on pop. A couple of years ago, there was a song out called Dance Monkey," the actress began, referencing Tones & I's breakthrough hit.

"If anyone ever played that in my house, they’re instantly being kicked out."

Dance Monkey is a hugely successful song that's racked up more than 2.5 billion streams on Spotify and another 1.9 billion views on YouTube. Here in Australia, the track has become a 17x platinum smash single.

According to the publication, the hitmaker is worth an estimated $35 million, which attributes her placement on the list to Dance Monkey, an “enduring hit”.

It’s reported that the track, which has broken numerous ARIA chart and streaming records since its release in 2019, has earned the singer $12 million.

As News.com.au noted, Watson also has a healthy property portfolio, including a $7.08m Mornington Peninsula pad she acquired last year.

A few weeks ago, Tones & I won the ARIA Award for Song Of The Year with Cloudy Day.

Sony Music Entertainment's now Senior Manager Of A&R, and Marketing Marietta Ouzas brought Tones & I's music to Sony offices in early 2019.

She spoke with The Music in our oral history of Dance Monkey. She said about the song's success, "Dance Monkey was released in May and first went to #1 on the third of August. It stayed at the top of the ARIA Chart for a record-breaking 24 weeks, which is an incredible achievement.

"Then all the charts around the world started to come through from there; it was #1 in over 30 countries. In the UK, it broke the record for the longest-running #1 by a female artist on the Official Singles Chart and reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 [in the US]. Tones has had a monumental year, and I’m incredibly proud of the person she is and everything she has achieved. I’m inspired by her every day."
