More Wet Leg More Wet Leg

Isle of Wight indie rockers Wet Leg put their own spin on an Empire Of The Sun hit when they hit the BBC’s Live Lounge.

The band are currently on tour in Europe in support of their latest album, moisturizer. For their Live Lounge performance, they took on Empire Of The Sun’s 2008 single Walking On A Dream, adding guitars and highlighting lead singer Rhian Teasdale’s unique vocal delivery.

With the guitar riffs, Wet Leg’s version of Walking On A Dream is closer to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or The Strokes than MGMT. You can check out the cover below.

Wet Leg are heading to Australia in February 2026, where they’ll perform at Laneway Festival alongside Chappell Roan, Wolf Alice, Role Model, PinkPantheress, Alex G, Yung Lean & Bladee, and many others. They’ll also play sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne – the latter, held at Northcote Theatre, is already sold out.

The band’s new album, moisturizer, has been described as “fun and freaky and fabulous” and “punchier, prettier and more perverted where it counts.”

Ahead of the release of moisturizer, the group concocted a plan to reach #1 in the UK with two albums in a row. The challenge? They were up against Oasis, whose greatest hits album, Time Flies – 1994-2009, landed atop the British album charts the week before – after Liam and Noel Gallagher returned to the stage on their Live ’25 reunion tour.

So, Wet Leg upped their marketing tactics to get any fans on the fence to continue streaming or buy the new record, with Teasdale offering to shave her armpits if moisturizer hit #1. Upon its release, moisturizer debuted atop the UK Albums and the UK Independent Albums charts. In Australia, it debuted at #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Wet Leg rose to prominence with their cheeky, Mean Girls-referencing single Chaise Longue in June 2021.

They’ve since gone on to win BRIT and Grammy Awards, opened for Harry Styles in Australia and at Wembley Stadium, and their self-titled debut album hit #1 in the UK and Australia.
