Dexter Holland is not just a sucker with low self-esteem.

The Offspring had a day off in Sydney on their SUPERCHARGED tour last week, and instead of chilling in his hotel room, vocalist Dexter Holland embarked on a triathlon.
“If you wanna look cool, just dress up for a triathlon,” he quipped in a video posted by the band on social media today. Holland then swam in a pool, got lost on the bike course, and ran to the finish line while his bandmates supported him from the sidelines, holding Gatorade and beer to celebrate his achievement.
Holland participated in the Penrith triathlon last weekend (10 May) and appeared in the Panthers Tri Club (PTC) local event at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
The Western Weekender reports that Holland embarked on a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike course, and a 5-kilometre run. He registered for the event with his assistant, and his bandmates turned up later to support him to the finish line.
PTC Club President Mark Thomas told the Western Weekender, “They kept it under wraps a bit, so it was rather surreal for the volunteers when he checked in.
“Dexter is training for an upcoming 70.3 event, and even though he is on tour, his coach is still sending him training programs to adhere to. It just so happened, our local club race coincided with them being in town, and his training schedule.”

The Offspring’s SUPERCHARGED Australian tour ended at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre yesterday. For the tour, they were joined by special guests Simple Plan.
In a recent interview with The Music, promoting their tour and recent album SUPERCHARGED, Dexter Holland and Noodles spoke about how they’re often referenced and their desire to shake off the “punk” label.
“I think that we get the punk label a lot, and I get it because it's where we came from, and there's still a big part of that in our music, but I would like to elevate ourselves and just be The Offspring,” Holland said.
“They don't call Pearl Jam a grunge band anymore, right? They got to the point where they're just Pearl Jam. They don't have to carry that label forever.”
