The pair covered the Simon & Garfunkel tune during their time off touring.
Acclaimed singer Lior teamed up with emerging talent Domini Forster to record a collaborative album, Animal In Hiding, last year.
The duo's intimate folk melodies have since wooed audiences across Australia. Thanks to the federal government's RISE Fund Grant, Lior & Domini have played nearly 50 shows across audiences amassing 7,000 people in regional towns, coastal spots, capital cities and ubiquitous festivals such as Port Fairy Festival and the National Folk Festival.
We're premiering their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's April Come She Will, filmed at Aviary Studios, Abbotsford, Melbourne, to celebrate the release. The clip was recorded and mixed by Lachlan Carrick and filmed and edited by Fraser Montgomery.
"When people asked us about the project, we started by describing the components: 'two voices, two guitars – harmonies and intricate fingerpicking' etc. At some point, it was easiest just to say, 'think Simon & Garfunkel'. As soon as we released Animal In Hiding, the media and audiences were making the comparison too. In the end, we decided it was only right to pay homage to them by covering one of their songs," Lior shared with The Music.
"April Come She Will was actually originally sung solo by Art, but we both loved the song and wanted to sing it together, so we took the liberty of adding harmony in traditional Simon & Garfunkel fashion. We recorded and filmed it live at The Aviary Studios in Abbotsford. It's a really warm, cosy space, and we wanted people to feel like we were sitting down in their lounge room to sing for them," Domini concurred.

Lior & Domini have had the opportunity to perform at pretty beautiful spaces throughout 2022. "All the way from the iconic little Milton Theatre south of Sydney to the Nolan Gallery at MONA in Tassie," Domini said. "We actually recorded the EP at Montsalvat - a beautiful old artists' colony on the outskirts of Melbourne. It's always felt like the songs suit intimate places that are rich in history and character."
Regarding the duo's future plans, Lior told us they're closing the year with a bang. "We're playing in Wodonga and Adelaide this month, and we have a hometown show in early December at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne. Then we'll be closing out the year at Woodford, which is hands down our favourite Australian festival."
