The US outfit have narrowly avoided disaster on the road
Oklahoma-bred hard-rock veterans Hinder are counting their lucky stars after their crew survived a three-vehicle crash involving their tour bus outside of Cookeville, Tennessee.
As local news outlet News OK reports, the band had been travelling to Charlotte, North Carolina, to perform on Thursday night (US time) when the incident occurred. According to the paper, the bus was carrying 10 people when it rear-ended a semi-trailer that had suddenly "slowed to a near-stop", sending the vehicles into a third car, a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.
Miraculously, the accident wasn't fatal — the driver of the SUV wasn't even injured — but has nonetheless impacted and shaken up the band, pretty understandably. At the time of their original update, bassist Mike Rodden and a lighting crew member were awaiting X-rays, while the bus driver was transferred to hospital in Nashville, before a further update indicated that both Rodden and the crew member have sustained broken ribs, while the driver is currently undergoing surgery ("Please send thoughts and prayers").
The band also thanked the Putnam County Emergency Management Agency and the Cookeville Regional Medical Center for their care and assistance following the accident.

In conjunction with the lack of death (always an upside) — and injured crew aside — the story does have a (relatively) happy ending. Upon originally taking to Facebook to spread the news of their crash, the band's primary concern seemed to be not for themselves but for the well-being of their driver's service dog, an Australian Shepherd called Cuzco.
The pup went missing after the crash, with the band making a plea for information pertaining to his whereabouts and return — only to later have their fears assuaged when Cuzco turned up safe and sound.
