You could be forgiven for thinking Brisbane party dogs Velociraptor have not done all that much in recent months, but the band have today revealed they've actually done a fair bit, announcing they've signed a record deal and giving us a brand new song to fall in love with.
The many-limbed garage pop beast has signed with Dot Dash/Remote Control for their debut full-length record which will be released later this year. The band's last release, the mini-album The World Warriors, came out in September of 2012. Dot Dah is also home to acts like Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Teeth & Tongue, Sunbeam Sound Machine and Dirty Three, among others.
Velociraptor have given us a new tune to enjoy, a slight taste of what's to come, in keeping with tradition it is another song named after and written about a girl; this time the muse is Ramona. Hear all about her below:
The band get back out on the road for some shows in April, with a few new faces joining the line up after the band lost a few of their members (bound to happen when there are so many of them), ensuring they're still performing as a full ten-piece ensemble when in full flight, trimmed down to eight when DZ Deathrays are out on the road.
The dates are below; tickets are on sale this Friday.
