More Pale Waves More Pale Waves

Pale Waves are known for their big, bold songs laced with pop-punk and new-wave elements. Their aesthetic is suitably gothic and engaging.

Upon the recent Super Fun Day festival line-up announcement - led by Fidlar and Dune Rats - we called for a Pale Waves tour. As cool as it would be for the UK group to have an exclusive gig in Brisbane, they have fans across the country dying to see them in intimate venues.

The Unwanted band will perform at Super Fun Day on Saturday, 18 March 2023. From there, they'll head to Adelaide the next night and blow minds at the Lion Arts Factory. Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney better get dancing shoes ready as Pale Waves will visit Magnet House, Max Watt's and the Metro Theatre to cap off their run of shows down under.

Since their 2018 debut, My Mind Makes Noises; the Manchester four-piece have grown to embrace their queerness, with lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie writing more directly about her relationships with women.

Meanwhile, drummer Ciára Doran has posted updates about their transition: from starting testosterone to recovering from top surgery. These experiences have shaped Pale Waves’ music over the last few years and have come to the forefront on their third album, Unwanted.

"Unwanted is in your face, and that's exactly what I wanted," Baron-Gracie confirms. "I want Pale Waves to keep growing in this direction. Bigger, bolder, and more unapologetic.”

About the band's live show, the singer notes that their gigs contain "Brilliant, energetic, dynamic songs that everyone's going to fall in love with live, and we're just gonna have a really fucking good time playing. I feel like the pandemic has really influenced and changed the way we make art now. People just want to get up and dance around and have energy.”

The Early Bird pre-sale begins tomorrow at 9 am local time - access details here. Tickets to the general public will be sold on Thursday, 15 December, at 9 am local time. Support acts haven't been announced yet.
