Toto's 'Africa' To Play 'For All Eternity' In Namib Desert Thanks To New Art Project

If you happen to find yourself in the Namib desert for whatever reason and hear Toto's iconic track, Africa, don't worry, you aren't hallucinating, it's very real. 

As ABC reports, Namibian artist Max Siedentopf's new project, 'Toto Forever' - a tribute to "probably the most popular song of the last four decades" - is essentially a never-ending loop of the famous 1982-released song; an MP3 player, placed on top of seven plinths positioned in the sand and facing outward.

"The song is put on loop and the installation runs on solar batteries to keep Toto going for all eternity," Siedentopf said.

The exact location of the installation is only known by Siedentopf, but even he concedes the project could not last literally forever. 

"Most parts of the installation were chosen to be as durable as possible, but I'm sure the harsh environment of the desert will devour the installation eventually," he said.
