Renowned country-rockers The Wolfe Brothers have announced an extensive string of shows they've dubbed the 'Let's Hit The Road' national tour, and the celebrated four-piece are set to do just that from early September.

Getting under way in Brunie, Tasmania, the band will flesh out the first leg of the sojourn — there's a second leg yet to be announced for 2018, FYI — with a mixture of headline and festival dates in Launceston, Booval, Brisbane, Mermaid Waters, Queenstown, Hobart, Deniliquin, Melton, Rooty Hill and Branxton.

For the headline shows, they've pulled in talented supports Straalen and Baylou to help complement their own countrified sounds, with the pair of acts popping up at various locations throughout the tour.

It's little wonder that The Wolfe Brothers are itching to get back on the road sooner rather than later; they've been spending time of late away — way away, in their home-away-from-home of Nashville — on a songwriting trip to create material for their upcoming fourth studio full-length, due out in mid-2018.

"The songwriting on this trip feels like we have stepped up another level," guitarist Brodie Rainbird said in a statement. "We have spent so much time in Nashville over the last couple of years that it is our second home, and we feel very settled and relaxed there now.

"The past experience of writing the last album there has given us the confidence to approach these songwriting sessions with much more focus on what we want to achieve, in terms of a direction for the next album."

Impressively, they'll be on tour pretty much up until the album's release, meaning that their next 12 months are going to be exceptionally packed, especially when taking into account their own high-profile support slot backing up Lee Kernaghan on his 25th-anniversary tour.

The impending tour will see the band showcasing a mixture of new material and old favourites, in keeping with their ethos of wanting to evolve with each new release, but still be a welcoming, warm and familiar experience for those fans who have been on the journey alongside them so far.

"We are trying to evolve as a band," frontman Nick Wolfe said. "We do not want to stay the same all the time; we want to grow and get better at what we do. Our goal is to achieve this on the new tour by giving the audience all the hit songs with some nostalgic covers but also share some new music with them before we release these songs on next album.

"It is always very satisfying to get the reaction of the hardcore fans to our new songs. We genuinely like to get them involved in the lead up to releasing a new album, and there is no better way to do that than to get the fans' opinion of some new songs."

Tickets for the first leg of The Wolfe Brothers' 'Let's Hit The Road' tour are available now through various outlets.
