"This year the grand final has been pre-recorded, with multiple endings pending a public vote."

The Voice Australia will not go ahead with a live finale this year.

As confirmed by TV Tonight, the Channel Nine reality singing comp has already finished filming this year's finale which is due to take place this Sunday.

A Nine spokesperson has said that "Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year the grand final has been pre-recorded, with multiple endings pending a public vote".

In last night's episode, Sydney artist Jesse Teinaki moved through to the semi-finals round.

Some may remember that Teinaki won the Telstra Road To Discovery competition back in 2013 which gifted him the opportunity to open for Bon Jovi during the iconic rock group's headline tour of the country that year.

Teinaki performed Ed Sheeran's Make It Rain, with coach Delta Goodrem saying "Your continued growth as an artist is so exciting... There's an edge but there's all heart."

Teinaki joins Timothy Bowen, Chris Sebastian, Johnny Manuel, Masha Mnjoyan, Mark Furze, Siala Robson and Stellar Perry in the semi-finals.

The semi-finals continue tonight on Channel Nine from 7.30pm, with the finale taking place this Sunday at 7pm.
