Did you know the newest member of The Saints used to be in Thirsty Merc?
Chris Bailey and his band The Saints are back with a new record and a series of tour dates that will see them hitting a couple of cities in Australia for club shows as well their already announced appearance at the 2012 Homebake Festival in Sydney.
The Saints as they exist now are a very different beast to the punk rock band that burst out of an oppressive Brisbane back in the mid-1970s; frontman Chris Bailey the only member who has been there since the beginning. But Bailey continues to write and perform at a fairly solid rate and will be performing on Australian soil for the first time in a couple of years to show us what he's been up to. There are a couple of new faces in the band nowadays, notably ex-Thirsty Merc member Sean Carey. Did you ever think you'd see a day where Thirsty Merc and The Saints collided?
The band's new record is called King Of The Sun and it features 11 tracks penned by Bailey as well as a bonus disc featuring a selection of classic Saints material. King Of The Sun, the band's 15th record, will be released on Friday 24 September.
