An amazing opportunity ripe for the picking
Victorian youth music organisation The Push has announced that it will once again offer a scholarship for one state-based individual aged 18-25 to attend this September's BIGSOUND conference and live showcases in Brisbane.
The second annual scholarship from The Push entails travel, accommodation and a delegate pass to BIGSOUND, valued at $650 and providing access to all conference sessions and BIGSOUND Live performances. The recipient of the prize will also be given hands-on planning sessions with The Push in order to make the most of their time up in Brisbane.
The practical benefits of attending BIGSOUND — which already features a jaw-dropping first line-up of speakers and bookers for this year — are obvious, but in case you need any further convincing, 2015 scholarship recipient Isabella Kranjec, of Kapitaal publicity and project management, is more than happy to explain:
"It was a great opportunity to be able to learn and discuss a whole range of things pertaining to working in music, not only with Australia's industry elite and veterans, but a whole bunch of delegates from around the world," she said in a statement. "From the media to PR, booking agencies to festival operations and managers to music supervisors and licensors, they're all there."

"It was, all in all, inspiring," she continued. "Seeing others work hard and with such passion, your peers and those who have established themselves within the business. BIGSOUND just made me want to work really hard doing the thing that I love to do."
The Push is a not-for-profit company that provides support to young people looking to develop a career in the music industry. Applications for The Push's 2016 BIGSOUND scholarship are open now until Friday 17 June.
