Not even a year since they made their Australian debut, Ireland’s The Mary Wallopers are preparing for an already-overdue return to our shores.

First forming in 2019 by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, the Irish folk outfit have managed to make quite a name for themselves in recent years.

Gaining a vast following amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, their unique blend of traditional Irish instrumentation (and lyrics all about “fucking and drinking and hanging landlords”) made them immensely popular throughout the coming years, with a self-titled debut arriving in 2022.

Having issued their Irish Rock N Roll album in late 2023, the group made their way down to Australia at long last in May 2024, appearing before a voracious fanbase. Just a month later they unveiled their latest body of work, with the Home Boys Home EP arriving in June to widespread acclaim from their eager legions of fans.

Now, just ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, it’s time for another Irish celebration as the group plot their local return.

Heading our way in September, the group will kick things off with a show at Perth's Astor Theatre on September 9th, before heading along to Brisbane’s Princess Theatre; Sydney’s Enmore Theatre; and Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul, wrapping it all up with a Melbourne gig at the Forum Theatre on September 19th.
